The Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia: Cartunes on Video:
Woody Woodpecker and His Friends

Woody Woodpecker and His Friends was the very first series of Walter Lantz cartoon videos from Universal/MCA. The first volume, released in 1982, included a doctumentary of Walter Lantz's career entitled, "Walter, Woody, and the World of Animation: The Walter Lantz Story". The tape was so successful that two more additional volumes were added to the series. Universal/MCA also issued the series on laserdisc. The series was discontinued in the late 1980s. Both tapes and laserdiscs alike are now extremely hard to find.
