The Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia: Cartunes on Video:
Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters

Like the Comedy Legends: Abbott and Costello series and the even earlier Universal Matinees, "Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters" features a Walter Lantz cartoon on each tape along with the feature film. Unfortunately, all of the cartoons ultilized are repeats from the first series of Abbott and Costello tapes and to add insult to injury, they still use the dreaded DVNR process. With all material available, one must wonder why Universal did not bother to use different cartoons with more "spooky" themes for this collection. Boogie Woogie Man, Apple Andy, Termites from Mars, Witch Crafty, or even something early like Spooks could have easily been used. The series was discontinued in the early 2000s.
